Engines, quality and cost
Every picture Nomi draws is made on one of two engines, and they differ in exactly two things: how long you wait, and what it costs. This page says what each one is, where the choice lives, and when the dearer one earns its price.

The two engines
| Engine | Roughly | Credits | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fast | 15 seconds | 6 | Most ads |
| Quality | 30 seconds | 10 | Product shots and fine detail |
Fast is the default. Every draw goes out on it unless you change the engine on that render. Quality is about 1.7 times the credits for about twice the wait.
The number on the button is what your account is charged, and both figures are per picture: render three proposals at once on Quality and the button says thirty.
Where you choose it
In the Image lane the engine is a small control on the row beside Send, set before you press Enter. In a conversation with the strategist it sits on the proposal card, next to the price on a wide rail and behind the gear on a narrow one. Either way the menu names both engines, the wait and the price.
The choice belongs to that one render rather than to your account: it expires with the card, so nothing stays switched on for the renders after it. Render several proposals together and they all go out on the engine showing on that card.
What the engine does not change
- Editing. Both engines hand back the same editable creative, and both make it the same way.
- What everything after the draw costs. An edit is 3 credits and a resize or another market's version is 6, whichever engine drew the picture.
- Size. Neither engine has a resolution setting, because both are priced per picture rather than per pixel. The shape of the ad is its own control.
How long it really takes
The two times are measured rather than promised, and they are what the countdown on a rendering card runs on. Working from a picture you attached is the one thing that reliably adds to them: allow about ten seconds more on Fast. Nomi treats a render as stuck only after fifteen minutes.
Stay on Fast while you are still finding the ad. Move to Quality on the one you are going to run, where the picture itself is the argument.
Every press spends credits, a re-run of something you already drew included. Nomi asks first only if you have set a ceiling under Confirm before spending in Settings, and no single draw reaches the default one.
