Editing a creative
Point at what is wrong on the picture, and pay once to have it redrawn.
Last updated 21 October 2026

Editing in Nomi is not moving things around a file. You point at a spot on the finished ad, say what should be different there, and the picture is drawn again with that change in it.
Opening the editor
Click any creative in the Library or on a session's canvas, or use Edit in its ⋯ menu. A creative whose session was deleted has nowhere to open, and its card says so.
Saying what should change
Annotate is armed the moment the editor opens, so your first press already does something.
Point at the spot
Click the picture to mark a point, or drag to ring a region. A blue marker with a white outline and a number lands where you pointed, with its note field already open. Numbers count the annotations on that picture, starting at 1.
Say what you want
Write it the way you would tell a designer: "make this headline shorter", "warmer light here". You can attach pictures to an annotation too, which is how you say "like this": the paperclip stays after the first, so one annotation can carry several, and each has its own × to take it off. One render carries four pictures at most, and the paperclip goes when it is full.
Add as many as you need
Every annotation lands as a card under Edits in the rail on the right, with what you asked and whether a picture rides along. Remove one with the arrow that appears when you point at it, or clear the lot with Reset.
Render
Render, bottom right, is the only control here that spends anything, and it states its price before you press it.
Draw is the other way to point: pick it from the chevron beside Annotate and mark the picture in ink, in any colour. Select and the hand sit in the same menu, when you only want to look around; V is the cursor from anywhere.
A marker you never wrote anything into is not an edit and does not survive: click somewhere else and it goes, so a stray press costs nothing.
Annotating from the grid
You can also place annotations directly on a session's Generate grid or in the Library. Pins stay inside the picture, and the note field opens beside its pin, on the right or on the left when the right has no room. On a phone, the field opens near the bottom of the visible screen. A picture alone is enough to keep an annotation.
If sending cannot be confirmed, the affected annotations stay in the queue so you can retry. Leaving the brand or session clears that grid's unsent annotations.
Asking Nomi instead
You do not have to open the editor. Tell Nomi in the session what is wrong with an ad it made here, in a sentence, and it proposes the fix as a card above the composer: Edit this ad, with the change written out. Press it and the ad is drawn again with everything else held still.
An edit costs one render, the same as any other, and the engine menu on the card still applies.
One change per ask. Nomi holds the layout, the words and the colours where they are and moves only what you named, so "make the headline shorter and swap the background" is two asks, not one.
Resizing is a separate step, and it comes after. Ask for the fix, look at it, and then ask for the other formats: the card says Resize this ad, with no prompt under it, because a resize keeps the ad you approved as it is. Fixing after resizing means fixing every shape.
Your own pictures on the ad
My assets opens with the editor, in place of the sidebar: the pictures you uploaded to the Library's My assets. It stays open while you edit a picture. The upload button at its top adds a picture from your computer, even when My assets is still empty, and each file shows as a placeholder until it lands. Drag a picture onto the ad, or press Enter on it to put it at the top right.
Drag a placed picture to move it, drag a blue corner dot to make it bigger or smaller, and press just outside a corner to turn it. It may hang past the edge of the ad, and is cut off there. The bar over it has Smaller, Bigger, Straighten once it is turned, and a bin to take it off.
Save lays the pictures in as a new version, at no cost: the button reads Save whenever nothing is drawn again, and Render when something is. They stay movable on every version after it, and a later edit, resize or localisation draws the ad again under them and lays them back on, so your picture is never redrawn.
What one edit costs
A render costs 3 credits, whether one annotation is queued or six. Queue everything you noticed, then press once.
Remove background is on a creative's ... menu in the Library and the session grid, a separate 3 credits that always asks first. Resizing and localising are 6 each, and have their own pages.
What comes back
A new version, in the column down the left of the canvas, each at its own shape. Its corner says which one it is: a number while every version shares one shape and language, otherwise its shape and language. The picture you started from stays exactly as it was, so nothing you liked is at risk. Click a version to move to it; the arrows at the top step through the other creatives from the same session, and Download sits just left of them. Point at a version and a ... appears in its bottom right corner with Download and Remove version; removing asks first, and the other versions stay. Rating a creative is done on its card, not in the editor. On a phone the versions are a strip under the top bar. A version still rendering already holds its place: the picture it is made from, broken into a moving mosaic, with a bar along its foot that fills as it renders and stays empty while it waits its turn. When it finishes it turns into its picture where it stands.
Undo and redo cover everything you queue, and cost nothing. A finished render is a version rather than an undo step, so it cannot be taken back that way.
There are no layers to open and no way to add a new line of text. The editor asks for the picture again; it does not take it apart.
The ad's copy
Every static opens with Ad copy at the top of the rail, collapsed, with its headline under the name when available. Open the row to change the Primary text, the Headline, the Description and the Call to action: a field saves when you click away, and the call to action as you pick it. An ad with no stored copy shows No copy yet and opens the same fields ready to fill.
On a phone
Back, at the top left, takes the place of the sidebar button while the editor is open. Return first to open the sidebar. While you write an annotation, the field uses readable text and keeps normal scrolling; image zoom and pan resume when you leave the field.
The editor is the same one, slimmed to a bar at the foot of the screen: Undo, Redo, Annotate, Draw, Resize and Localize. Tap the picture to annotate a spot, or drag to ring an area; the field to describe it opens at the foot where the bar was. Pinch to zoom, and move the picture with two fingers.
Once something is queued, a row above the bar shows how much and offers Render; tap the count to see the queue and remove a row. Resize and Localize open as sheets over the picture. Ad copy and Download are direct controls at the top right. Ad copy opens as a dialog with Save, since a phone has no rail. Deletion is available from the grid.
