Engines, quality and cost
Fast or Quality, what each one costs, and how long each one takes.
Last updated 13 October 2026

Every picture Nomi draws is made on one of two engines, and they differ in what they are for and what it costs.
The two engines
| Engine | Roughly | Credits | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fast | 30 seconds | 6 | Most ads |
| Quality | 35 seconds | 10 | Product shots and fine detail |
Fast is the default. Every draw goes out on it unless you change the engine on that render. Quality is about 1.7 times the credits for about the same wait, and it is the engine built for holding a picture, so it also draws every edit, resize and other market's version whichever engine drew the original.
The number on the button is what your account is charged, and both figures are per picture: render three proposals at once on Quality and the button says thirty.
Where you choose it
The engine menu sits on the proposal card when its footer has enough room. On a narrow card it hides, keeping the proposed engine, and Decline and Render each take half the footer. The menu names both engines, the wait and the price.
The choice belongs to that one render rather than to your account: it expires with the card, so nothing stays switched on for the renders after it. Render several proposals together and they all go out on the engine showing on that card.
What the engine does not change
- Editing. Both engines hand back the same editable creative, and every edit of it is made on Quality's engine.
- What everything after the draw costs. An edit is 3 credits and a resize or another market's version is 6, whichever engine drew the picture.
- Size. Neither engine has a resolution setting, because both are priced per picture rather than per pixel. The shape of the ad is its own control.
How long it really takes
The two times are measured rather than promised, and they are what the countdown on a rendering card runs on. A picture you attached measured no slower than a draw from words alone. Nomi treats a render as stuck only after fifteen minutes.
Stay on Fast while you are still finding the ad. Move to Quality on the one you are going to run, where the picture itself is the argument.
Every press spends credits, a re-run of something you already drew included. Nomi asks first only above the ceiling under Confirm before spending in Settings, 200 credits unless you change it, and no single draw reaches it.
