Steering a running turn

You do not have to wait for Nomi to finish before adding something. A message sent while a reply is running goes to that reply rather than starting a second one, so a correction lands while the work is still happening instead of after it.

Send while Nomi is working

Type in the composer as usual and press Enter. Your words appear in the conversation immediately, and the running reply picks them up between the steps of its work. There is no separate control for this: while a reply runs, the round button beside the field is Stop, so Enter is what sends.

This is the Strategist lane. In the Image lane a render is one job with nothing to interject into, so the composer simply waits for it to land.

Whether it was picked up

Sending and being read are two separate events, so hover your own message and Nomi says which of the two has happened.

  • Not read yet. The reply is still running and has not reached your message.
  • Read mid-reply. Your words went into the reply. It means Nomi saw them, not that Nomi agreed with them.
  • Nomi did not read this. The reply finished without ever reaching them.

That last one is normal rather than a fault. Nomi only looks for a new message between steps of its work, so a reply that is a single stretch of writing with nothing else to do has no gap to look in. The more a reply involves (reading a source, making something, checking a product), the more chances your message has to land. When it says it was not read, send it again as an ordinary message.

What a mid-reply message carries

Words only. Anything you have attached, and the product you have chosen, stay staged for your next full message rather than travelling with the interjection.

Five is the limit for one reply. Past that Nomi refuses the sixth and says so, because a whole conversation pushed into one reply stops being steering. If a mid-reply message cannot be delivered at all, a short line appears beside the button and nothing is added to the conversation, so you are never left talking into a void.

Stopping instead

Stop ends the reply on your screen only. Nomi finishes what it had already begun and keeps what it had written, so stopping is not an undo and does not give the credits back.
